Garage Fire Damage
12/12/2019 (Permalink)
SERVPRO of Sherman/Denison was called out to assist on this large garage fire.
A battery had overheated in a golf cart causing it to melt the surrounding case that holds the battery in place. Gasoline was store in the garage along with the normal garage items such as paints and thinners.
The homeowners were at home but did not notice the smoke until a neighbor came bye to let them know that their garage was on fire. The homeowners tried to use two fire extinguishers but to no avail. The Volunteer fire fighters were able to bring the fire under control. The First responders had to actually remove the entire garage door to make access to the garage due to the door being closed by a garage door opener.
Luckily there was minimal damage to the inside of the home abd the garage sheetrock had to be removed. SERVPRO of Sherman/Denison cleaned everything and homeowners were able to return their home with in a couple of days.
